Truck Accident and Disabled Motor Vehicle Case A Miracle

Here is a link to a terrible truck accident injury case and death . But there was a miracle for a young lady. This lady truck driver stopped to help a disabled vehicle on Interstate 75. Another truck crashed into the back end of her stopped truck and she jumped off the bridge to avoid being struck.

She had been talking on her cell phone to her boyfriend after she got out to aid the first auto. She suffered pelvic fractures and had an external fixator. Her cell phone had landed with her when she jumped and she was able to summon help.

This is an example of violation of the assured clear distance statute.  R.C. 4511.21 You must drive so that you can avoid crashing with visible objects in front of you in the same lane. You can bet that the insurance company will still try to put some blame on the good samaritan. They will say she put herself in harm's way or caused her own injury by jumping.

Couple seriously injured when car hits their motorcycle

The  Wilmington post reported a couple remained in serious condition Tuesday afternoon

from injuries they got when a car struck their motorcycle Saturday night on U.S. 22 west of Wilmington

Stephen J. Gasaway, 41, of North Webb Road, Wilmington, was operating the motorcycle northeast

on U.S. 22. His wife, Karaann Gasaway, 39, was a passenger on themotorcycle.

Lt. J.J. Tibbs, commander of the Wilmington Post of the State Highway Patrol, said a 2006 Honda Accord

driven by Ashley A. Taft, 27, of Wilmington, who was traveling west on U.S. 22, struck the Gasaway’s

motorcycle. “Ms. Taft drove left of center striking the motorcycle,” The commander said the Gasaways both suffered serious

injuries. Taft was not injured. The Gasaways were both transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital and were then taken by

medical helicopters. Tibbs said one was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati and the other to Miami Valley Hospital

The crash occurred at 10:40 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 22, three-tenths of a mile east of County near Webb .

When a car goes left of center they are negligent as a matter of
law unless it was impossible to stay
on the right side of the road. But what if the car driver said the
motorcycle came into my lane and I
had to go into thier lane to elude them. You better hire a
knows the best accident reconstructionist who can blow
out of the water this kind of trash.
Especially if there are no witnesses. Don't count on the
police to do it.
